Texas judge grants woman’s abortion request

A judge in Texas has granted an emergency request allowing a woman whose fetus has a fatal diagnosis to receive an abortion despite the state's near-total ban on the procedure.

Texas is among the states that have enacted strict abortion laws since the Supreme Court ruled last year that abortion access would no longer be protected by the constitution.

UN Humanitarian Chief says its operations in Gaza are "in tatters"

The United Nations Humanitarian chief, Martin Griffiths says
hostilities are making humanitarian efforts "nearly impossible" in
Gaza.

ceasefire is needed immediately or thousands of people will die of
hunger.

Georgia's Fulton County District Attorney Willis pushing for prison time in Trump election case

Prosecutors in the U.S. state of Georgia's 2020 election case against Donald Trump want jail time for some of the defendants, according to emails.

They charged Trump and 17 others with trying to overturn the 2020 election.

House set to vote on authorising Biden impeachment inquiry next week

The House of Representatives is set to vote next week on a resolution to authorize their impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

Las Vegas shooter named as college professor

The man who killed three people at the University of Nevada in Las
Vegas has been named as a 67-year-old college professor.

Investigators are still looking for a possible motive, but reports
suggest he had applied for a job at the university, but been turned
down.

The gunman died in a shootout with police.

UN Security Council set to vote on a new ceasefire resolution on Friday

The United Arab Emirates has tabled a fresh draft resolution to the
Security Council members calling for an immediate humanitarian
ceasefire in Gaza.
The draft comes just hours after the U.N Secretary General wrote to
the council, invoking article 99 of the charter, informing them that
the crisis in Gaza represented a threat to world peace.
But the U.S has already indicated that it doesn't support any council
action at this time and might use its veto to halt the resolution.
