US lawmaker carjacked at gunpoint in DC

A US lawmaker has been held at gunpoint and carjacked just blocks from
the Capitol building.

Democratic Texas Representative Henry Cuellar was attacked on Monday night.

US Senators to visit China, Japan and South Korea next week

A bipartisan delegation of US Senators will visit China, Japan and South Korea this month, with hopes of meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping.


In a rare show of unity on Capitol Hill, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, confirmed on Tuesday that six lawmakers, led by Republican Party's Mike Crapo, will set off to Asia next week, following trips to Beijing by a series of senior Biden administration officials earlier in the summer.

Pope Francis leaves door open to blessings for same-sex couples

Kenya to Deploy Troops to Haiti

SECOND MALARIA VACCINE APPROVED BY W.H.O.

WHO recommends second malaria vaccine for children- set to be rolled out next year.


There's been another milestone in the quest to eradicate malaria.

It comes as the World Health Organization backs a second malaria vaccine, which is cheaper than the earlier approved one.

It is believed that the latest vaccine can help prevent the spread of the deadly disease caused through a mosquito bite faster because it can be produced easily on a massive scale.
