Million-dollar bounty for exiled Hong Kong activists

Japan to get IAEA verdict on Fukushima water release

The International Atomic Energy Agency is expected to approve Japan's controversial plan to release treated wastewater from the damaged Fukushima power plant into the ocean.

The UN watchdog's chief Rafael Grossi is in Japan on a four-day visit, where he will meet prime minister Fumio Kishida and deliver the results of its safety review.

Nine killed in Israeli attack on Palestinian camp

At least nine people have been killed in an Israeli attack on a Palestinian refugee camp in the city of Jenin. Drones were deployed and gunfire was heard across the city in what Israeli forces have called a counterterrorism effort. Thai elephant flown back from Sri Lanka after diplomatic spat

A Thai elephant gifted to Sri Lanka more than two decades ago is back in the country after a diplomatic spat over its alleged abuse.

Unrest continues in India's northeast

4 more people have been killed in fresh violence in India's north eastern region of Manipur. One man was beheaded by a rival gang and three others killed in a gun battle.

It's been two months since the ethnic clashes first broke out and more than 40,000 security forces are still deployed on the ground.

The death toll stands at over 100 now and tens of thousands have been displaced.

The opposition has once again called for the state's chief minister - a leader from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party - to resign. The government has denied allegations that it has mishandled the situation and has again appealed for calm.

At least two people have been killed and 30 others injured in a shooting at a community party in the U.S. city of Baltimore.

Officials say access to illegal guns have caused a surge in crime both in the city and the wider nation.
