A team of military officials from the East African Community has arrived in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo to assess the performance of the regional force operating in the conflict-affected province of North Kivu. The team's visit comes amid calls from some Congolese citizens for the departure of the East African Community Regional Force from their country for failing to fight against the M23 rebels.
