Chinese leader Xi Jingping and Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida are set to meet for the first time on the sidelines of the APEC meeting in Thailand on Thursday night.
The two leaders have only ever spoken one time and are meeting amidst heightened tensions concerning China’s military activity near Taiwan.
