80 People Die of Cholera in Nigeria

80 people have died in Nigeria, suspected to be caused by Cholera.

 

The fatalities are from 4,153 new suspected cases of cholera infections in the country.

 

This is coming at a time manufacturers of one of only two cholera vacancies  are halting production, causing alarm among health officials.

Health leaders are warning the NHS in England is facing one of its toughest winters on record.

Special 24/7 control rooms are being set up to see which hospitals are especially busy and divert ambulances elsewhere.

A worst case scenario model says up to half of all hospital beds could become occupied with respiratory infections such as Covid-19 and flu.

Pyongyang fires ammunition into North-South Korea maritime buffer zone

North Korea fired 250 rounds of ammunition off its east and west coasts into a buffer zone with South Korea.

HUMANITARIAN AGENCIES IN UKRAINE FEAR WINTER MONTHS

EU Commission unveils new measures to rein in energy prices

The European Commission has unveiled a raft of new proposals aimed at taming soaring energy prices in the European Union. 

The plans include new tools for joint EU gas purchases to avoid member states outbidding each other on an already tight market, and frameworks for gas-sharing in crisis circumstances.

As the 27 EU members squabble over when, if, and how to cap wholesale gas prices, the Commission has also put forward a compromise plan. Under proposals, temporary prices limits for transactions on Europe's main gas exchange can kick in to curb extreme spikes.

Trump Organization Charged Secret Service "Exorbitant Rates"

The Trump organization charged the US Secret Service what the House Oversight Chair is calling "exorbitant rates"for agents to stay at Trump hotels while protecting the former President  and his family.


They were as much as five times more than the government rate, according to newly released Secret Service records.
