US stocks slip on inflation fears

U.S. stocks lost ground Wednesday on news that inflation in the US has
hit its highest level since 1981.

It's sparked speculation that the Federal Reserve may take even bolder
action to ease price pressures.

Parents outraged Uvalde school shooting video leaked to media

Parents who lost their children in the Uvalde school massacre are livid that video surveillance capturing the attack was leaked to the media.

The Austin-American Statesman and ABC-affiliate KVUE (prono: K-View) posted the entire 82 minutes of the mass shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead in May.

Biden arrives in Israel at start of controversial trip

President Biden has arrived in Israel at the start of a controversial overseas trip that will include additional stops in the West Bank and Saudi Arabia.


He visited  the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and on Thursday will hold talks with the country's caretaker prime minister Yair Lapid.


Touching down at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv he pledged to deepen ties between the US and its key ally in the Middle East.

More UK Rail Strikes Announced

Eight Conservative leader candidates through to first stage of voting

Voting for the next Conservative party leader in the UK will open on Wednesday.


Eight candidates must receive at least 30 votes from their fellow MPs to proceed to the next round.


Two further candidates - former Health Secretary Sajid Javid and junior minister Rehman Chishti - failed to secure enough nominations on Tuesday.


This comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson stood down as party leader last week, following a mass exodus from his cabinet.

Leaked video shows police confused and stalled outside Uvalde classroom as gunman attacks

Disturbing video of police responding to the Uvalde school massacre has been leaked to the media, as government officials in Texas quarrel over whether the full version should be released to the public.

The video shows police officers confused and stalled in a hallway outside the classrooms where 19 students and two teachers were killed in May.

The video was obtained by the Austin-American Statesman and TV station K-VUE. Both have posted edited versions.
