UK, FRANCE DISCUSS END TO FREIGHT BLOCKAGES

Talks are continuing between the UK and France on resuming disrupted freight flows.

French authorities imposed a ban on travel and freight from the UK because of a new variant of covid-19.

Mass testing is one of the measures being considered to ease blockages.

Queues of over 1000 lorries have built up in southern England with drivers stranded attempting to make their way back to continental Europe.

Home Secretary Priti Patel says measures are in place to help with the disruption - partly as a result of Brexit preparations.
