Brexit trade deal talks have resumed, despite the European Parliament's ratification deadline having passed on Sunday night.
But with the outbreak of a new coronavirus variant, politicians including Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon are calling on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to seek an extension to the transition period.
