Hong Kong, Canada and Switzerland have joined several EU states in banning arrivals from the UK due to concerns over the spread of a new variant of coronavirus.
The British government says the new strain -- which could be up to 70% more transmissible -- is "getting out of control." It's prompted Prime Minister Boris Johnson to revise the country's restrictions over the Christmas period.
