First US Covid-19 vaccines to start on Monday

The first Covid-19 vaccinations in the US are expected to take place
later on Monday.

The vaccine rollout has already begun, with hospitals due to receive
doses of the Pfizer vaccine in the coming hours.

But it comes at the same time as the total number of deaths in the
country from the virus inches closer to 300,000.

S. Korea hits daily record high of Covid-19 cases

South Korea has reported a record daily high of Covid-19 infections as the country experiences its worst wave yet of the virus. Seoul has expressed great concern, as the spread shows no sign of slowing amid the capital's toughest social distancing guidelines this year.

Supreme Court, in devastating blow to Trump, rejects attempt to overturn election's outcome

The US Supreme Court has rejected a lawsuit by Republicans in Texas that sought to overturn Joe Biden's victory in the US Presidential election.


The decision is a body-blow to President Trump's last-gasp attempt to prevent the President-elect from succeeding him in the Oval Office.

Four U.S. battleground states reject Texas lawsuit

Four battleground states have rebuked a lawsuit seeking to overturn

UK VACCINE MANUFACTURER TO TRIAL COMBINATION WITH RUSSIA VACCINE

UK pharmaceutical manufacturer AstraZeneca has agreed a partnership with Russia's Gamelaya institute to work on a combined Covid-19 vaccine.

Both have produced their own vaccines, with Gamelaya reporting efficacy of more than 90%, and AstraZeneca reporting around 70%.

Now AstraZeneca will conduct a clinical trial to test a combination of both vaccines.
