Lawmakers in the Democratic Republic of Congo have removed the speaker of parliament from office. Jeanine Mabunda's removal has been hailed as a major victory for President Felix Tshisekedi who is attempting to assert his authority after breaking-up the ruling coalition that he jointly led with former president Joseph Kabila.
