Clashes in Kerala in south India after women enter Hindu temple

Activists in the state of Kerala in south India have taken to the streets in protest after two women managed to enter a famous Hindu temple, from which women between the ages of 10 and 50 had been banned.

The Supreme Court in September ordered authorities to end this tradition at the temple.

Manchester terror stabbing suspect detained under mental health laws


A 25 year old man has been detained under mental health laws after stabbing three people including a police officer in a Manchester train station on New Year's Eve.

TERROR SUSPECT DETAINED UNDER MENTAL HEALTH LAWS

A man arrested over a knife attack in Manchester which is being treated as a terrorist incident - has also been detained under mental health laws.

The 25 year-old is suspected of attempted murder, after three people were stabbed at Manchester's Victoria railway station on New Year's Eve.

Death toll rises to 14 in Russian apartment explosion, but baby plucked from rubble
