EU politicians say it's too late to renegotiate Brexit

European politicians say there isn't enough time renegotiate the Brexit deal.

Some EU countries are said to be unhappy with parts of the agreement including fishing rights and environmental protections.

EU ambassadors are currently meeting in Brussels to discuss the future relationship with the United Kingdom.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is beginning a PR blitz to sell her Brexit deal to the British public.

It comes as several of her cabinet ministers reportedly continue to consider whether to quit in protest at the arrangement reached with EU negotiators.

Mrs May could also face a confidence vote in the coming days over the issue, if enough Conservative MPs submit letters calling for a change in leadership.

She insists the draft Brexit deal is right for the country - and has used a national radio phone-in to say she thinks she can get MPs to back it in a parliamentary vote.

Man who helped create landmark nuclear treaty warns of warheads over Europe

The interpreter who helped broker a landmark nuclear treaty between the Soviet Union and the US has told this programme that the treaty's demise could lead to new nuclear warheads poised over Europe and Asia. Pavel Palazhcenko helped create the INF treaty which banned the two countries from producing intermediate warheads - but President Trump is pulling out of the deal. 80,000 evacuated as Cyclone Gaja makes landfall in southern India

US Senators introduce bipartisan legislation to stop arms sales to Saudi Arabia over Yemen conflict and Khashoggi murder


US Senators are introducing bipartisan legislation to stop arms sales to Saudi Arabia over the conflict in Yemen and the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.

The move comes after the Trump administration announced sanctions on 17 Saudis linked to Khashoggi's death.

N. Korea claims to test new "state-of-the-art" tactical weapon


North Korea claims to have successfully tested a new tactical weapon. The test comes as there appears to be growing frustration in both Washington and Pyongyang amid stalled talks.

North Korean state media called the weapon "state-of-the-art."

The report said this tactical weapon will completely protect North Korea and strengthen its army.

The report, however, didn't identify the weapon.

But it did say the project was spearheaded by Kim Jong-un's father and former leader Kim Jong-il.

The current leader hasn't publicly tested any weapons since last November.

But this latest claim by Pyongyang comes amid growing calls from the U.S. for North Korea to give up its nuclear arms.

Rees-Mogg sends letter of no confidence in Theresa May


Arch Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg, who leads rebels in Theresa May's Conservative party has submitted a letter of no-confidence in her leadership.   This follows the resignation of several government ministers including the former Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab amid anger at the draft Brexit withdrawal agreement with the EU. 


Rees Mogg chairs the European Research Group, a grouping of Brexit-supporting MPs, who have advocated leaving the European Union without a deal. 


A number of MPs are believed to have submitted letters of no-confidence.   48 are needed to trigger a vote in Theresa May's leadership. 


Speaking to reporters, Jacob Rees-Mogg denied he was orchestrating a coup.

British Prime Minister Theresa May has told the parliament that the country risks no Brexit deal at all unless MPs get behind her draft withdrawal agreement.   She's facing questions from MPs about the deal which was given cabinet backing after a tense five hour meeting Wednesday.  However Thursday saw a flurry of resignations of ministers and junior ministers, including the man who oversaw much of the negotiations with the EU,  Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab. 


There are also suggestions that Conservative backbenchers could force a no-confidence vote in Theresa May's leadership.  


However Mrs May has told the Parliament her deal is the best way forward.
