U.S. and India sign military-communications deal

The US and India signed a major military communications deal in New Delhi on Thursday

The agreement was overseen by US secretary of state Mike Pompeo and defense Secretary James Mattis

Hollywood heart-throb Burt Reynolds dead at 82

The actor Burt Reynolds has died at the age of 82.

North Korean Charged with Cyberattacks

The US justice department has charged a North Korean man for cyberattacks against the UK's National Health Service and against Sony Corporation. 

The hacker was also reportedly involved in an attack against the Bank of Bangladesh in 2016.

US-China trade war hits key deadline, new tariffs loom


China says it will be forced to retaliate if the US moves forward with its plan to impose a fresh round of tariffs.

UK and Russia trade barbs at UN Security Council

The United Kingdom and Russia have traded barbs at the United Nations
Security Council.

The Council met after London identified two suspects in the attack on
a former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter.

Prime Minister Theresa May told lawmakers on Wednesday that the two
men entered the country on Russian passports and are suspected of
belonging to Russia's military intelligence service.

Top Trump officials fall over one another to deny authoring "anonymous" article

Vice President Mike Pence and several of President Trump's top lieutenants are denying they wrote the anonymous piece published by the New York Times in which its claimed members of President Trump's Cabinet have discussed trying to oust him from power.


President Trump has called the article "gutless" and is demanding the newspaper unmasks the official who wrote it.

China accuses the UK of "provocative actions" in South China Sea

China has accused the UK of "provocative actions", after a British warship sailed close to disputed islands in the South China Sea.

On Friday HMS Albion was warned by China's navy that it had "violated Chinese law", after allegedly encroaching the waters around Paracel Islands without permission. From London, Will Luckett reports.

India's Supreme Court moves to decriminalize homosexuality


In a landmark judgement by India's top court, homosexuality has been decriminalised in India. 


The Supreme Court ruled that the LGBT community in India should have the same rights as everyone else in the country.


Chef Keshar Sharma left India 21 years ago because his family said they would kill him due to his homosexuality. He was granted refugee status in France a few years ago.   He says he was sexually assaulted many times for being gay. 


Keshar Sharma says while gay sex may no longer be illegal, Indian people's mentality to same sex relationships will not.

Tottenham - Wembley deal extended

UK Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to extend their deal with the English FA to play home games at Wembley Stadium until December 15th, according to reports in the UK media.


This extension has followed the revelation of lengthy delays in the construction of their new stadium that was initially expected to open in time for the club's September 15th home fixture against Liverpool FC. From London, Will Luckett reports.

Pence and Pompeo deny being "anonymous" author

US Vice President Mike Pence is denying that he authored an anonymous commentary for the New York Times that claims members of the Cabinet have discussed removing President Trump from power.


The anonymous editorial has sparked a manhunt inside the White House, with President Trump saying the author should be "handed over" to authorities.

UK Minister calls Russia's GRU a failure


British officials are preparing to face their Russian counterparts at the United Nations today as the UK briefs the Security Council on the identification of the suspects in the Salisbury Novichok attack on a former Russian spy and his daughter.

Britain and France have agreed on the principles of a deal to end hostilities over scallop fishing in the Channel.

UK 'PREPARES RETALIATION' AGAINST RUSSIA

The UK is reportedly preparing covert responses against Moscow and its military intelligence network, over the nerve agent attack in Salisbury.

It follows the identification of two men from Russia's military intelligence service the GRU as suspects in the attempted murder in March of a former Russian spy and his daughter.
