POLICE: FLORIDA SUSPECT 'CONFESSES' TO SCHOOL SHOOTING

Police in Florida say the teenager accused of killing 17 people in a gun attack at a school has confessed to the shootings.

Nikolas Cruz faces 17 counts of premeditated murder over the incident on Wednesday at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

The FBI has admitted it received a tip-off about him in 2017, and is now facing questions about whether it should have been able to identify Nikolas Cruz as dangerous.

FBI Special agent Robert Lasky says investigations are ongoing.

Indian government backtracks on electric vehicle policy

India's Transport Minister has said that the government has now decided against a policy mandating a complete shift to electric vehicles by 2030.

Last year, the Indian government had said that it aims to have a fully electric fleet running on Indian roads by 2030- in a bid to phase out petrol and diesel vehicles.

Former Trump campaign adviser Rick Gates is reportedly close to sealing a plea bargain deal with special counsel Robert Mueller.

FBI confirms they received a tip about a Nikolas Cruz

The FBI is confirming they received a tip about a Nikolas Cruz posting about mass murder on social media.

The initial investigation into Nikolas Cruz finds he was a troubled young man who had received mental health care but purchased his AR-15 weapon legally.

President Trump says securing America's schools is now his administration's top priority, after the suspect in yesterday's school shooting in Florida was charged with the premeditated murder of 17 people.

Pres. Trump focuses on mental health following Florida shooting

U.S. President Donald Trump did not address gun ownership laws, instead focusing on condolences for the familes in Florida and speaking about the need for improved mental health care.

He says he will visit the Parkland neighborhood, as a trip to his estate at Mar-A-Lago was already scheduled.

President Trump said no child or teacher should be at risk while in school.

US AG Sessions urges enforcement of gun laws

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is promising American law enforcement will do more to enforce gun regulations following the deaths of 17 during a mass shooting at a school in Florida.

Nikolaus Cruz had received treatment for depression and mental health issues, but questions are still outstanding as to how he was able to purchase an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

Florida shooting: suspect charged with murder

A 19-year-old man has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder following a mass shooting at a school in Florida.

Teachers were reportedly warned in advance about the behaviour of Nikolas Cruz, who had been expelled from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Seventeen people were killed and dozens more injured in the deadliest US school shooting since 2012.

Cyril Ramaphosa sworn in as South Africa's new president

Germany warns India over increased custom duties

EU thought to be removing Brexit "punishment clause"

The European Union is believed to have changed the wording in a text to remove what's being nicknamed a "punishment clause" after Brexit.
