Delhi one of the least safe parts of India, study shows

Delhi is one of the least safe places in India for women, according to new research.

The study revealed that Goa is the the safest state in the country for women.

Manus Island standoff intensifies

Australian Immigration Minister Peter Dutton is blaming advocates and the Greens party for the ongoing Manus Island stand-off as detainees at the mothballed centre dig holes in search of water.
Some 600 asylum seekers and refugees have barricaded themselves inside the complex, which officially closed on Tuesday, fearful they will be attacked if they venture outside.

26 dead in a power plant blast in India

In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, an explosion at a state owned power plant has claimed the lives of 26 people.

Officials say the death toll may rise as several people are still trapped under the debris.

Bhutan's Royals in India for a goodwill visit

Bhutan's King and his family are in India for a four day bilateral long visit.

This is the their first visit to India since New Delhi and Beijing ended a two month long border stand-off over the Doklam plateau.

Bhutan and China both claim Doklam as their own territory- while India maintained that it was interfering on behalf of its ally Bhutan.

US media reports are identifying 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov...originally from Uzbekistan...as the man arrested after the New York truck attack.
