Alibaba, Marriott announce partnership

China's largest e-commerce operator, Alibaba, has announced a partnership with Marriott.

The firms are banking on the rising wages of China's middle class leading to a growing pool of tourists; in a statement, they said that Chinese travelers will take some 700 million trips over the next five years.

Calls for binding South China Sea agreement

The United States, Japan and Australia say a new code of conduct to

US aircraft found after crash leaving 3 US marines missing

A U.S. aircraft that crashed, leaving three US marines presumed dead, has been located underwater off Australia's east coast. 

Twenty three people were rescued when the MV-22 Osprey ditiched into the water on Saturday, but three remain unaccounted for.

15 firefighters detained in Italy for starting fires

Fifteen volunteer firefighters have been arrested by Italian police on suspicion of intentionally starting fires to boost the number of call outs they were receiving.

The team were being paid 10 euro [12 dollars] per hour each during call outs.

North Korea vows to retaliate following fresh UN sanctions

North Korea has vowed to retaliate after the United Nations slapped
fresh sanctions on them over the weekend.

The KCNA news agency describe the UN measures as a violent violation

LONDON COMMUTERS FACE CHAOS

Thousands of British commuters are facing weeks of severe disruption because of engineering work at the country's busiest train station.

Almost half the platforms at London Waterloo are closed until 28th August.
