No arrests in manhunt for Berlin suspect

German police haven't made any arrests in their search for the prime suspect in the deadly truck attack that killed twelve people at a Berlin Christmas market.

Officials confirmed earlier that 24 year-old Tunisian national Anis Amri's fingerprints were found inside the vehicle.

UN vote on Israeli settlements delayed

A United Nations vote calling on Israel to end settlement building in
the Palestinian Territories has been indefinitely postponed.

Berlin attack a test - Chancellor Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is describing the attack on the Christmas market in Berlin as a test of democracy and response to terrorism.

German law enforcement continues to search for the lead suspect Anis Amri, while the market itself has been partially reopened.

Adding that the victims are constantly in everyone's thoughts, Chancellor Angela Merkel says this is a test.

Aid workers killed in Mosul mortar strikes

Seven civilians and four aid workers have been killed by mortar fire
in the Iraqi city of Mosul.

The United Nations estimate that a further 40 people were wounded as
Iraqi forces continue their efforts to purge the so-called Islamic
State from the city.

UN approves war crimes investigation team

The United Nations has approved a proposal to set up a team to assess
war crimes in Syria.

The General Assembly held a special vote on the creation of an
investigative body responsible for documenting and prosecuting the
worst human rights abuses.

German police carry out multliple raids in search for Christmas market attack suspect

German police have carried out multiple raids in several cities in a bid to catch the main suspect wanted in connection with the lorry attack on a Christmas market in Berlin which killed 12 people. 

It comes as it emerged that 24 year old Anis Amri had previously been monitored by the authorities amid concern he was trying to acquire weapons, however surveillance was lifted due to lack of evidence. 

A European arrest warrant has been issued for Amri as Ira Spitzer reports from Berlin.

ECJ ruling may complicate post-Brexit trade deal

The European Court of Justice has ruled that an EU free trade deal with Singapore must be agreed by all member states, a decision which has implications for the UK as it prepares for Brexit negotiations.

Hunt continues for Berlin Christmas market suspect

A major man-hunt is underway across Europe for the man suspected of carrying out the Berlin Christmas market attack which left 12 people dead...

It's emerged 24-year-old Anis Amri - a Tunisian national - had been under surveillance for 6 months on suspicion of planning a robbery in order to pay for guns. 

On Thursday there were reports that police had raided several apartments in the western city of Dortmund while homes in the capital were also searched  as Ira Spitzer reports from Berlin.

Ten patients in the UK with an inherited form of blindness are to be given "bionic eyes"...

President Obama to host Japan's PM Abe in Hawaii

U.S. President Barack Obama is set to host Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (on Tuesday December 27) for a visit which will include a stop at U.S.S. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, some 75 years after Japan attacked America, bringing the U.S. into World War II.

Previously, (On May 27, 2016) the American president made an historic visit to Hiroshima, where the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb as part of its efforts to end World War II.

Daniel Kritenbrink, the Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the National Security Council confirmed the historic nature of the visit:
