Italian government prepares bailout of world's oldest bank

Italy's third largest bank looks increasingly likely to be bailed out by the government - in a move that could force thousands of ordinary people to lose some of their savings.
Monte dei Paschi di Siena (pron: mon-tay day-ee pas-kee) is expected to announce later on Thursday has failed to raise the 5 billion euros it needs on the open market (voicer will hold after announcement.)
