ERDOGAN IN RUSSIA FOR TALKS ON RESTORING TIES

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is in Russia for talks with counterpart Vladimir Putin as their countries attempt a 'reset' in relations.

The visit to St Petersburg is the first time President Erdogan has left Turkey after a failed coup last month.

Turkey and Russia have been trying to improve ties after a diplomatic crisis sparked by Turkey shooting down a Russian military jet at the Syrian border.

John Lough, Russia expert at the Chatham House think-tank, says the two men appear committed to a rapid improvement in relations.

Voters react to Trump's economic plans

In the US presidential election, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are launching their economic plans this week.

Republican nominee Donald Trump promised to cut regulations and simplify the American tax code during a speech in Detroit.

Hillary Clinton said Trump's campaign was simply trying to make "his old, tired ideas sound new".

Josh Allton, a Hillary Clintons supporter, said Clinton's economic plans might be difficult to get past Congress.




David Young, a Hillary Clintons supporter, said Trump's plan wouldn't help the US economy.

Computer Crash Forces Delta to Cancel or Delay Thousands of Flights

A computer system crash has forced Delta Air Lines to cancel hundreds of flights and to delay thousands more. 

Tens of thousands of passengers have been affected.

US 'raises concerns' with Turkey over response to coup

The United States has 'raised concerns' with Turkey over Recep Erdogan's response to the July 15 failed coup.

On Sunday, Mr Erdogan told a huge rally that he was prepared to bring back the capital punishment to the country.

State Department spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau says Turkey is "still working through a critical period".


US condemns suicide bombing in Pakistan

The United States has condemned a hospital bombing in Pakistan that killed at least 70 people.

The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack in Quetta, which left more than 120 people injured.

State Department spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau said the US had offered its assistance to the Pakistani government.

US wants UN to OK additional 4,000 strong peacekeeping force in South Sudan
