advocates call for same sex marriage debate in Australian parliament

Gay marriage advocates in Australia are being advised to stop fighting against the promised government plebiscite and instead focus their energies on campaigning.
But a former High Court judge who argues there's little point in a public vote and instead wants parliament to get on with its job has the backing of the Opposition parties.
