Early results show 'Brexit' lead in EU referendum

Early results suggest the United Kingdom's referendum on European Union membership is on a knife edge.

The Leave campaign is performing slightly better than expected, and turnout in some Remain strongholds is lower than predicted.

Voting is over in the United Kingdom's historic referendum on European Union membership.

Polls suggest the result is too close to call - although United Kingdom Independence Party leader Nigel Farage thinks the 'Remain' vote have won.

The Democrats of the U.S. House of Representatives are vowing to continue the political debate over gun control when they return from recess on July 5.

Abortions on the rise in response to Zika concerns in Central and South America

Democrats end gun-control sit-in on Capitol Hill after more than 24 hours

Democrats in the US Congress have ended their sit-in on the floor of the House of Representatives after more than 24 hours.


They were protesting the Republicans' refusal to bring gun control legislation to the floor of House for a vote.


The sit-in brought anarchic scenes to the US Capitol, with a shouting match breaking out on Wednesday night as Republicans tried to move other legislation through the chamber.


The leader of the sit-in, Democratic Congressman John Lewis, announced its conclusion.

Republicans accuse Democrats of "publicity stunt" over gun legislation sit-in

Democrats in the US Congress are being accused of a "publicity stunt" by Republicans after a sit-down protest on the floor of the House of Representatives went into its second day.


The Democrats are trying to force Republicans to bring legislation on gun control to the floor of the House for a vote.


But Republicans insist the legislation isn't ready, and that the Democrats have broken the rules that govern Congress by seizing control of the lower chamber of America's legislature.

Cinema Gunman Shot Dead by Police

German media outlets are reporting the masked gunman who stormed a movie theatre is now dead.

Not guilty ruling in Baltimore police murder case
