Republicans accuse Democrats of "publicity stunt" over gun legislation sit-in

Democrats in the US Congress are being accused of a "publicity stunt" by Republicans after a sit-down protest on the floor of the House of Representatives went into its second day.

The Democrats are trying to force Republicans to bring legislation on gun control to the floor of the House for a vote.

But Republicans insist the legislation isn't ready, and that the Democrats have broken the rules that govern Congress by seizing control of the lower chamber of America's legislature.
