U.S.-backed Syrian forces fight IS in Manbij

US-backed Syrian forces clashed with Islamic State fighters near the
Turkish border, just outside of Manbij city on Thursday. Late last
month the Syria Democratic Forces and its allies launched a takeover
of the city, a key fighting position for IS militants.
