French Nuclear Workers Prepare to Strike

Workers at many of France's nuclear power plants say they are ready to strike as anger continues to mount over controversial new labor laws.

Strikes have already caused a fuel shortage in the country.

Four arrested in Belgium suspected of links to terror group

Four people have been arrested in Belgium suspected of being members of a terror cell and thought to have been planning an attack.

The arrests came as eight houses in the northern Belgian city of Antwerp were raided by police.

G7 SUMMIT BEGINS IN JAPAN

G7 leaders are meeting in Japan to discuss the health of the world economy, and other issues including tensions over the South China Seas.

The European Union is also asking for more G7 support on dealing with its refugee and migrant crisis.

Fourth meeting of Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council held in Moscow

Australia's deputy PM in hot water again over asylum seeker comments

Australia's Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says Australia's relationship with Indonesia has never been better, even after his deputy seemed to link a live cattle export ban with an increase in asylum-seeker boat arrivals.

Eight Arrested At Trump California Rally

Several protesters who were hurling bottles at police officers and
scaling barriers outside a California rally for Donald Trump Wednesday
could face charges.

Eight people were arrested after the Republican front-runner addressed supporters in Anaheim, just one day after a Trump event in Albuquerque, New Mexico, erupted into chaos when hundreds of protesters swarmed the venue where Trump was speaking, and threw rocks at police officers.

Mr. Trump along with Democrats Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are campaigning in California ahead of the state's primary June 7.

States Sue Obama Administration Over Transgender Bathroom Rules

Eleven US states sued the Obama administration Wednesday, seeking to
overturn a directive from the federal government this month that
public schools should allow transgender students to use the bathroom
matching their gender preference.

State department grilled over what was known about Clinton's email practices

Hillary Clinton failed to comply with federal records rules, with her use of private email for government business.

That's the damning message from a State Department Inspector General report, which publicly slams the former Secretary of State for flouting the rules, and for failing to ask permission to use a private server.

Syrian forces say no immediate plans to retake Raqqa from ISIS


US-backed Syrian fighters have no immediate plans to recapture the city of Raqqa from the Islamic State group, even though an offensive is underway in the north of the city.

President Obama's diplomatic visit to Japan sullied after PM Abe criticizes US

Ukraine and Russia confirm prisoner swap

Ukrainian military pilot Nadiya Shavchenko seen by many as a national
hero has returned to Kiev after a prisoner swap was agreed with

Brexit could mean further austerity cuts for UK, IFS warns

The UK could face at least another two years of austerity if it votes to leave the European Union in June.

That's the latest warning from a new report by the Institute for Fiscal Studies.

While Vote Leave insists the UK would save money in EU membership fees, the IFS says a Brexit would have a negative impact on the UK economy and would result in years of further cuts.
