CHELSEA HIRE CONTE

Antonio Conte has been announced as the new manager of English Premier League side Chelsea.

The 46 year-old Italian will take over at Stamford Bridge after this summer's Euro 2016 tournament.

IMF chief denies they're trying to push Greece to default

The International Monetary Fund has denied claims they are trying to press Greece towards a default on their international alone agreements.

It comes after a leaked transcript revealed how some IMF senior officials say only a crisis would bring about a delayed agreement between the fund and Athens.

First refugees arrive in Germany under new EU-Turkey deal

A plane with sixteen Syrian refugees has landed in Germany, the first to arrive in Europe under a new agreement between Turkey and the European Union.

Top Russian officials named in massive media leak

Top Russian officials, including the Russian President, his spokesperson and many government members are listed in the so-called "Panama papers", the biggest leak in the history of data journalism. The secret documents from a Panamanian bank published by the International Center for Investigative Journalism and Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project suggest hundreds of officials across the globe may be involved in high level offshore corruption.

Controversial EU Migrant Relocation Program Now Underway

With boats carrying migrants now setting sail from Greece to Turkey, a controversial European Union relocation plan is underway. 

The plan is aimed at crippling the human smuggling business and slowing the massive exodus of refugees and migrants to Europe.

Melbourne property owner charged with neglect after leaving 40 or more horses to die

Residents were alerted to something being seriously wrong at a property on the outskirts of Melbourne after a foul smell wafted across the district on Sunday.

Police found more than 40 horses decomposing or dying, and whilst a property owner has been charged with animal cruelty, there are suggestions the problem could go much deeper.

US retaliates for death of Marine in Iraq

The U.S. believes it has killed the Islamic State militant responsible for the death of the second U.S. soldier in Iraq.

Last month, U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant Louis Cardin was killed in a rocket attack as he and his brigade were supporting Iraqi forces near Mosul.

Vladimir Putin's fortune at center of Panama banking leak

The origins of some of Russian President Vladimir Putin's enormous fortune have been revealed in a massive leak of documents from a Panamanian bank.

Someone gave the International Center for Investigative Journalism and it's media partners 11 million documents revealing all sorts of records on off-shore banking deals.

Over 11 million documents from a Panamanian law firm have been leaked to over 100 media organizations. 

The leak reveals how the law firm, Mossack Fonseca helped clients launder money, dodge sanctions and evade taxes.

At least two dead in US train crash

At least two were killed when an Amtrak passenger train collided with construction equipment on the tracks south of Philadelphia.

Dozens were reported injured and train service is now shut between Washington and New York, the most heavily travelled section of passenger rail in the U.S.

EPL CLUBS DENY DOPING LINKS

English Premier League clubs are denying wrongdoing after doping allegations were made by the Sunday Times newspaper.

The paper says it secretly filmed a private doctor, Mark Bonar, claiming to have prescribed banned drugs to elite UK sports professionals including premier league players.

The Sunday Times admits it has no independent evidence that Mr Bonar did actually treat top-flight footballers or other athletes with medicine banned by sporting bodies.

LAPD rule out knife found at O.J. Simpson’s former property

Islamic State is top concern for President Obama
