30 Asylum Seekers Moved From Greece

As part of the European Union's relocation program, 30 asylum seeks flew from Athens to Luxembourg today.

This is the first group of asylum seekers moved from and Greece and while the relocation program is underway, the EU is still very far from reaching its relocation goals.

Obama to make another attempt to close Guantanamo Bay

Another attempt will be made to close the controversial American prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

Houston reject “bathroom bill”

After a bitter contest lasting over a year voters in the US city of
Houston Texas have rejected a proposal designed to secure greater
rights for transgender and gay people.

Russian Foreign Minister Meets UN Syria Envoy in Moscow

Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov is meeting with the UN envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura, in Moscow this Wednesday.

VW discloses new emissions problems

Volkswagen has admitted it had understated CO2 emissions for about
eight thousand vehicles of its vehicles sold in Europe.

US concerned by reports of another arrest in Iran

The US State Department says it's concerned by reports that a Lebanese man with US residency has been detained in Iran.
Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported the arrest of IT expert Nizar Zakka, saying he is linked to US military and intelligence agencies.
The reported arrest is the latest in weeks to target a visitor with U.S. ties.
Speaking at the US State Department, spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said the US government takes these reports very seriously but that the issue is separate from the nuclear deal agreed with Iran in July intended to block its path to atomic weapon.

PENTAGON: US and Russia conduct 'air force test' over Syria

There are new signs of cooperation between the U.S and Russia in the fight against ISIS.  

The Pentagon said the two air forces held a joint training exercise in Syria Tuesday. 

This comes about two weeks after the U.S. and Russia signed an agreement aimed at reducing the risk of incidents as aircraft from both nations conduct airstrikes.  

According to the Pentagon there have been a number of close encounters between U.S. and Russian planes over Syria in recent weeks.

"KFC" restaurant in Iran shut down 24 hours after opening

The first restaurant claiming to sell Kentucky Fried Chicken in Iran has been shut down by the authorities just 24 hours after it first opened.

Russia Steps Up Syria Peace Deal Push, Softens Stance On Assad

A senior Russian government official has said the members of the Syrian opposition, and Syrian government officials, could meet in Moscow for talks next week.

It comes as a foreign ministry spokeswoman in Russia has also said it's not crucial for President Bashar al Assad to stay in power.

Chilean miners sue their lawyers

Nine of the 33 Chilean miners rescued in 2010, after being trapped underground for over two months, are suing their former lawyers for fraud.

The miners say that they were cheated by their lawyers, who tricked them into signing away their rights to their story without compensation.
