Russia Steps Up Syria Peace Deal Push, Softens Stance On Assad

A senior Russian government official has said the members of the Syrian opposition, and Syrian government officials, could meet in Moscow for talks next week.

It comes as a foreign ministry spokeswoman in Russia has also said it's not crucial for President Bashar al Assad to stay in power.
