US markets dive in early trading

The US stock market has started the trading week substantially lower
with the Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq all posting heavy losses.

This comes as European and Asian markets also plunged following
another dismal day for the Chinese economy.

US and Turkey Close to Launching Anti-ISIL Front in Syria

Turkey's foreign minister is planning to launch a joint military operation with the United States in northern Syria.

Global stock markets tumble as China's economy slows

Stock markets in Asia, Europe and the US have fallen sharply amid continuing fears over China's economic stability...

The FTSE100 index in London was down more than 5 per cent in afternoon trading, with the DAX and CAC40 falling between 5 and 6 per cent.

Wall Street has opened lower, as China's 'black Monday' spreads around the global markets.

Investors are desperate for a sign of reassurance from officials in China as to how they will shore up its economy.

Train heroes to receive top honours in Paris

France is granting top honours to train passengers who foiled an attack by a gunman on a high speed service to Amsterdam this weekend.

Euro markets plunge amid panic over China's growth slow-down

Stock markets across Europe have plunged into the red at the start of the trading week, amid panic over the continuing slow down in China's economic growth...

Americans hailed as heroes for preventing train shooting

The three American men who are being hailed as heroes for stopping a
potential mass-shooting on a European train have spoken about the
experience.

The men were on holiday and on board the high-speed Amsterdam to Paris
train when they tackled the alleged gunman in Friday's incident.

Police are continuing to question Moroccan national Ayoub El-Kahzzani
for his alleged links to a radical Islamic movement.

Nervous Monday ahead for Wall Street

Wall Street traders have had a nervous weekend following Friday’s dramatic slide in the value of stocks.

They’ll be looking to see whether the trend continues when markets re-open on Monday.

Merkel, Hollande host Ukraine talks in Berlin Monday


Talks aimed at resolving the crisis in Ukraine are due to get underway in Berlin on Monday.

They’re being convened jointly by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande, in a fresh bid to bring peace to the country following a pro-Russian uprising in the East a year and a half ago.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not been invited to Monday’s meeting, after Ukrainian President Petro Poroschenko urged European leaders to isolate him.

DPRK UN ambassador: Pyongyang's threat to strike South Korea not "empty talk"

North Korea's UN ambassador on Friday warned that Pyongyang's threat to strike South Korea is not an idle one.
