Prison worker may have supplied tools to escaped convicts

A female prison worker may have provided tools to Richard Matt and
David Sweat- the two men that escaped from New York's Clinton
Correctional Facility last week.

This report from CNN comes as officials in the area warned of the
consequences for any worker that had a hand in their escape.

US judge backs charges against police officers in Tamir Rice case

A U.S. judge has backed charges against two Cleveland police officers in the shooting death of a 12 year old boy.

The family of Tamir Rice, who was shot dead in November, have welcomed the move saying they were pleased the 'wheels of justice' have started to turn.

The case is one of a series of episodes involving police violence.

More than 23 million Russians live in poverty, study shows

A living standard of than 3 million Russians fell below the official poverty line in the first part of the year as Russia's economy slid into a recession. GREECE HOPES FOR DEBT DEAL NEXT WEEK

Greece says it hopes to reach a deal with international creditors next Thursday, despite a major setback in negotiations.

The International Monetary Fund has walked away from talks citing major differences with Greek officials.

But Athens hopes an agreement can be finalised at a meeting of eurozone finance ministers in Brussels on June 18th.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras's government has pushed back at pension and sales tax reforms requested by creditors, while pressing for more assistance in reducing its debt burden.

If a deal isn't reached, Greece is likely to run out of money this month.

And correspondent Olly Barratt says agreement on Thursday looks a tall order.

CHARLES KENNEDY FUNERAL HELD

The funeral for Charles Kennedy, former leader of British political party the Liberal Democrats is being held today, near his home in the Scottish highlands.

He died earlier this month at the age of 55, having suffered a major haemorrhage after a long battle with alcoholism.

Bloodhounds "pick up scent" of New York escapees

Police in New York say they've found the location where two escaped killers are believed to have spent at least one night since they broke out of a maximum security jail.


Bloodhounds are once again on the trail of the two men, whose whereabouts remain a mystery.

New York Manhunt enters seventh day

White House denies 'mission creep' speculation in Iraq

America's top general says a new U.S. military base being set up in Iraq's Western desert could be a model for more such hubs.

Hackers 'May Have Found Names Of Chinese With US Ties'

The Chinese hackers who attacked the database of the US Office Of Personnel Management may have got hold of the names of Chinese relatives and friends of American diplomats and officials- that's according to investigators speaking to the New York Times newspaper.

UN peacekeepers engage in 'transactional sex'
