Increased violence in Ukraine as sides trade accusations

US Secretary of State of John Kerry has accused Russian backed militants in eastern Ukraine of a, "blatant land grab," amid reports they have been extending the area they control by attacking Ukrainian forces.


There are mounting calls for Russia to remove its troops and equipment from Ukraine as fighting there has flared in the past week.

US Ambassador to UN says Russia's peace plan for Ukraine is "occupation plan"

Russia's peace plan for Ukraine is little more than a Russian occupation plan… according to the US Ambassador to the United Nations.


Addressing the United Nations Security Council in their first Ukraine meeting in weeks, Samantha Power said Moscow's proposal seeks to hold on to territory claimed by Russian-backed rebels.

Netanyahu To Address Joint Session of US Congress

The White House says US House speaker John Boehner has breached protocol by inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak to Congress on Iran.

NYT: CIA Report Suggested Torture Program Was Ineffective

The CIA's own internal classified report found that harsh interrogation methods were ineffective in the post 9-11 era, according to the New York Times.

France unveils major boost to counter terrorism force


France has unveiled a plan to boost its counter-terrorism force by creating over 2600 new jobs and increasing spending by 490 million dollars.

Prime Minister Manuel Valls announced the efforts, which come in response to the recent deadly attacks in Paris, which left 17 dead.

The plan will focus on improving France's surveillance programs. 

Mr. Valls said there are currently some 3,000 people across the country that should be monitored.

He said these individuals have been involved in Islamist militant fighting or are deemed at risk to join the cause.

Nine Stabbed On Israeli Bus, Suspect Arrested

A man accused of stabbing nine people on a bus in Israel Thursday has been arrested.

Cameron says Iraq inquiry delay "extremely frustrating"

UK Iraq war report to be delayed beyond election

The official UK inquiry into the 2003 Iraq war will not publish its long-awaited report before the general election in May.

Russia's Foreign Minister says Ukraine militants agree to retreat
