Investigation opened into 2nd Texas Ebola case

U.S. President Barack Obama has ordered top American health officials to investigate how a nurse in Texas contracted Ebola while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan.

CDC: "Breach in protocol" Likely Cause of U.S. Ebola Transmission

A breach of protocol may caused a health care worker at a Dallas hospital to preliminarily test positive for Ebola, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The health care worker, identified as a female nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, had extensive contact on multiple occasions with Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S. who died last week.

If confirmed, it would be the first known case of the disease being transmitted in the U.S.

Dr. Anthony Fauci [[FOW-chee]] of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases told America's NBC News that the nurse may have made a simple mistake removing protective gear, which could reveal a break in protocol.
