Vietnam's President and Communist Party General Secretary To Lam has arrived in Moscow for a three-day state visit — the first by a Vietnamese head of state and party leader since 1991.
The visit, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is expected to focus on deepening cooperation in energy, defence and technology, with formal talks between the two leaders scheduled for Tuesday.
It comes just days after American envoys held more than three hours of discussions with President Putin at the Kremlin as part of Washington's push to end the war in Ukraine.
