The United States Central Command has confirmed American forces destroyed five Iranian crude oil tankers linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard, striking targets near Kharg Island and the port city of Jask.
The strikes came in retaliation after Iranian forces twice targeted a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles over the past two days — attacks the Pentagon says the warship successfully evaded.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard has responded by launching a ballistic missile attack on the Al-Azraq air base in Jordan, saying it struck hangars housing American fighter jets.
