US ENVOYS WITKOFF AND KUSHNER HOLD FIRST ROUND OF PEACE TALKS WITH ZELENSKY IN KYIV AFTER KREMLIN MEETING WITH PUTIN

US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have held their first round of peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, after a three-hour closed-door meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Saturday.

The Kremlin described the Moscow session as useful, saying the American representatives had prepared seriously for the trip, though no breakthrough was announced.

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that the envoys were carrying a proposal to end the war, adding there may be a good chance of success.
