US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have arrived in Kyiv for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy — the highest-level visit by a US official to Ukraine since President Donald Trump began his second term.
The envoys spent three hours with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Saturday before travelling on to the Ukrainian capital, carrying what President Trump has described as a new proposal to end the war.
Both sides have paused military strikes while the diplomatic effort is under way.
