US President Donald Trump has called Iran "small potatoes" and said the United States has "essentially taken over" the country, as American forces resumed strikes on Iranian targets along the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian state media is now reporting a fresh attack on an oil tanker near Kharg Island, Iran's main crude export terminal, though the Pentagon has not confirmed the strike.
The president posted a video on social media last week with a caption threatening to blow the island "to smithereens."
