A Massachusetts judge has declared a mistrial in the case of Lindsay Clancy, the former nurse accused of murdering her three young children, after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict following seven days of deliberations.
The jury of nine women and three men was reportedly split eleven to one. Clancy's defence had argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings and was not criminally responsible.
A status hearing has been set for the twenty-ninth of September, when prosecutors will indicate whether they intend to seek a retrial.
