SOUTH KOREA'S LEE AND FRANCE'S MACRON HOLD SUMMIT AT ELYSEE PALACE WITH STRAIT OF HORMUZ AND DEFENCE TIES ON AGENDA

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and French President Emmanuel Macron are holding summit talks at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Tuesday, with security cooperation, defence agreements and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz expected to dominate the agenda.

The meeting comes roughly five months after President Macron visited Seoul, when the two countries elevated their relationship to a global strategic partnership.

On Monday, the two leaders jointly launched a billion-euro film and animation investment programme at a summit in the south of France.
