The United States is planning a new wave of military strikes on Iran as soon as this weekend, according to US officials cited by CNN, as the war between Washington and Tehran continues to escalate.
US President Donald Trump signalled the plan on Friday, saying the US would hit Iran hard, while the State Department has issued a fresh travel warning urging Americans in the Middle East to prepare for flight cancellations and airspace closures.
Iran has responded with new threats against countries hosting American military bases, and Kuwaiti authorities have reported Iranian drone attacks early on Saturday.
