Pakistan's Supreme Court has ordered former Prime Minister Imran Khan transferred from prison to a hospital in Islamabad for medical treatment, in what is the court's first direct intervention over the jailed leader's health.
Khan has been behind bars for more than three years, serving sentences totalling more than thirty years on corruption and other charges. Rights groups including Amnesty International have condemned what they call the systematic denial of his right to a fair trial and adequate medical care.
