Nuclear talks between the United States and Iran have been thrown into turmoil at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland, with Iran's delegation refusing to return to the negotiating table after a break, citing what Tehran called threatening and insulting remarks by US President Donald Trump.
President Trump said on Sunday the US might take over the Strait of Hormuz if no deal is reached, and warned Iranian officials they would not have a country if they closed the waterway.
The two sides have given sharply different accounts of events at the summit, with deep mistrust evident even before formal sessions began.
