Opposition parties corner the Indian government over alleged use of Pegasus spyware

Intro:

The Indian government is being accused by opposition parties of purchasing the spyware Pegasus and lying about it.

A New York Times report has said Indian officials purchased the snooping software in 2017 as part of a 2-billion-dollar arms deal with Israel.
