EU sends top official to Ukraine in show of support amid tensions with Russia

Tensions between Moscow and Kyiv appear to show no sign of easing, with an estimated 100,000 Russian troops massed near Ukraine. The European Union says it stands in solidarity with Ukraine on matters of sovereignty and territorial integrity, and is preparing a package of sanctions to slap on Moscow in case of an invasion. On Monday, the bloc sent one of its top officials to Kyiv for high level meetings.
