India bans export of anti-malaria drug used for treating coronavirus patients

INTRO

India is banning exports of the anti-malaria drug hydroxy-chloroquine... used by some doctors to treat coronavirus patients.

As cases of infections in the country rise, there are fears of a shortage of the retroviral treatment.

But the Indian Council of Medical Research has recommended that it only be used in exceptional circumstances.
