Paralympics get under way in Paris with opening ceremony

The 2024 Paralympics get under way on Wednesday in Paris with the opening ceremony.

There will be 549 gold medals across 22 sports awarded over the next 12 days in the French capital - with the same iconic Olympics venues being used for Paralympic events.

The UK National Crime Agency says traffickers are being duped into taking hundreds of kilograms of cannabis into Britain under false assurances authorities are soft on drug trafficking.

US Donates 10,000 Mpox Vaccines To Nigeria

Nigeria has received 10,000 doses of Mpox vaccines to help curb the spread of the disease.


The vaccines were donated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Tuesday.


It is the first African country to receive doses to respond to the outbreak that has spread to 12 countries in the region and killed over 500 people.

Millions of polio vaccines arrive in Gaza
