Judicial panel begins hearing on police brutality claims in Lagos



A judicial panel investigating claims of police brutality and the shooting of protesters has begun hearing complaints in Lagos southwest Nigeria. 

The judicial panel was set up as part of efforts to end police brutality in Nigeria after weeks of protests by thousands of youths across the country.

Europe hit by brutal second wave with new lockdown expected in France and Belgium

France and Germany will announce new measures to tackle the second wave of the coronavirus. 

French President Emmanuel Macron will give a televised address on Wednesday evening, with a full national lockdown being considered.

UK GOVT URGED TO CONSIDER STRICTER LOCKDOWN

The UK government's under growing pressure to consider a national coronavirus lockdown as cases and deaths continue to spike.

367 deaths were recorded over the last 24 hour period - the highest since May.

The government's scientific advisers are warning the UK could see more deaths in the second wave of covid-19 than in the first peak.

But dozens of Conservative MPs are calling on the Prime Minister to set out a roadmap for regions to exit the lockdown restrictions already in place.

Environment Secretary George Eustice says it's a difficult balance to strike heading towards Christmas.

China Reports Rise in New COVID Cases


China reported its highest daily toll of coronavirus outbreak in months on Tuesday because of a spike in infections in Xinjiang province.

Cathay Pacific under pressure amid contract negotiations and job cuts
