UK INFLATION JUMPS IN JUNE

UK inflation has hit its highest rate since January 2024, according to new data.

The headline rate reached 3.6% in the year to June, up from 3.4% in May, and higher than expectations.

Food prices surged for the third month running.

But Business commentator Declan Curry says the Bank of England could still cut interest rates in August.

Air India To Resumes International Flights Following Reduction After Fatal Crash

Indian carrier Air India will begin restoring its flight schedule starting August. 

This comes after the airline reduced flights following the fatal crash in the Indian city of Ahmedabad in early June that killed 260 people. Kshitij Nagar has more from New Delhi.

Nvidia's resumption of AI chips to China is part of rare earths talks, says US

INTRO:  Nvidia's planned resumption of sales of its H20 AI chips to China is part of US negotiations on rare earths, according to US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and comes days after its CEO, Jensen Huang, met President Donald Trump.

Under-pressure French PM to make 2026 budget announcements

India orders checks of Boeing fuel switches after Air India crash

India's aviation regulator has ordered airlines to inspect the lock on the fuel control switches on Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 planes by next week.

The directive comes days after a preliminary report on last month's Air India crash found that the fuel switches were cutoff moments after takeoff.
