UK Government Facing Opposition To Planned Welfare Cuts
The UK government is facing increasing opposition from within its own party against planned welfare reforms.
High ranking officials from Downing Street are holding talks with Labour backbenchers threatening to rebel.
More than 120 MPs have registered their opposition to the benefit cuts ahead of a crunch Commons vote next Tuesday.
The government says the changes will get more people into work and save up to £5 billion a year. But Ministers could offer further concessions to head off the rebellion.
